Due to recent spamming of phpBB forums we have had to change the registration process for some new users.
Some new members of www.askforhelp.org.uk may therefore, on attempting to register, receive a message telling them that their email account has been 'banned'. This does not reflect our opinion of you as a prospective member of this forum, merely that some users with your XXX.com address have been acting in an unpleasant way by posting unsuitable messages and links to distasteful websites which carry the risk of exposure to viruses.
If you should receive this notification message please bear with us rather than getting angry or worried. You are welcome to register using an alternative email address, one linked to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) should prove successful. If you have any problems please contact us directly, by using the email link beneath this message.
This change will not affect members of the site who registered prior to the date of this message.

Unfortunately, due to the ever-increasing number of spam accounts (in excess of 200 in the past few days) site administrators are being forced to use automated software that will prevent applications for registration from those whose site membership appears to be solely to advertise online material of whatever nature.
It is therefore likely that a yahoo, gmail or hotmail address will result in an automated 'banned' response.
Please note that we will take the necessary steps to report offenders to their mail providers and also to their web hosts if we feel this is the most appropriate course of action.
This will result in suspension and/or termination of an email account, pending investigation by mail providers, and could result in a website being taken offline.

Spam memberships are acknowledged to be an ongoing, and increasing, problem for all internet forums and groups. Administrators would naturally prefer to spend time running a site than taking time to delete false, 'spam', memberships.
Please bear with us if you genuinely wish to join us at ask4help, either because you feel we have something to offer or because you would like to become part of our online community.
If you experience any problems please ensure that you use an email address that is provided by your ISP. Activate and use your membership and post on the site.
If you wish, your email address can be changed at a later date, from within your profile.
